The Affiliation Agreement
"The Affiliation Agreement"

The city of Narashino and the Brisbane city have concluded "The Affiliation Agreement" in relation to the conservation of wetlands and preservation of migratory shore birds on February 25th 1998. And, we further agreed on " the five year plan Action Plan" on March 4th, 1999, for the affiliation agreement.

In the above Agreement and the "Five Year Action Plan", We are aiming at the following.

  1. Research and Exchange of Information.
  2. Exchange and training of Persons involved in wetland protection.
  3. Exchange of students.
  4. Develop educational projects.
  5. Exchange visits of members of local communities.

Boondall wetland

The Brisbane city is the third city in Australia ,followed Sydney and Melbourne. It is a harbour city located in the mouth of a river of the Brisbane river. The population is about 790,000 people, and 1221 square kilometers in the area. It is state capital in Queensland.

There are six wetlands in the Brisbane city. Boondall wetland is a Ramsar site and Shorebirds Net Work site as well as Yatsu Higata.

In addition, there are a lot of common points with Yatsu Higata. There is details escaped from development by the maintenance exercise of the local people, the management of the citizens subject, the practice of environmental education, and there is a natural guide volunteer.
