Wildlife in the mud
The Yatsu Higata tidal flat is known of so many migratory shorebirds flying in throughout a year. It is the oasis of the shorebirds because of abundance of the little creatures.

Periophtalmus modesties inhibit in a cave dug in the mud soil, and live by moving from a Cave to another. Mugil cephalus cephalus are seen in the tidal flat streams. In spring and summer, Sterna albifrons are making strait diving to fetch the fish and fly back to their nests for nursing their babies.

Benthos creatures such as crabs and invertebrates are inhibiting in the beds of the Tidal Flat.
